Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today Iâm joining you here to share another day in my life with you. This time, itâs a day of medical checkups. For several years now, weâve viewed the month of September not only as a time to celebrate family birthdays but also as an opportunity to undergo various medical checkups as part of our annual health monitoring. Since we all live far apart, we rarely get to see each other, and I think itâs important to set aside at least some time each year to take stock of our healthâfor example, by seeing an internist.
Mom and I went to see Dr. Armando MĂĄrquez today, a gastroenterologist, because we had some concerns about our health. I donât want to go into too much detail about what was discussed there, but I must say that the doctor is very articulate, and so, between taking my medical history and our conversation, the time just flew by. Iâm glad to know that my mom is doing quite well, and when I hear that, I feel a great sense of peace. We just need to do a follow-up test, but most likely everything will be fine. As for me, Iâm doing well too, but there were a few things going on with me, andâto be honestâwith all these doctorâs visits, it hadnât occurred to me to get checked out as well. I think I needed it, but there are still a few more tests to go through before a diagnosis can be made.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El dĂa de hoy me uno por aquĂ para compartir con ustedes un nuevo dĂa en mi vida. En esta ocasiĂłn se trata de un dĂa de chequeos mĂ©dicos y es que desde hace algunos años, este mes de septiembre se tiene no solo como un mes para las celebraciones de los cumpleaños de la familia sino tambiĂ©n un momento para hacer varios chequeos mĂ©dicos con la intencion de llevar un control de salud anual. CĂłmo todas vivimos a grandes distancias, pocas veces nos podemos reunir y creo que es importante tener al menos un tiempo al año para hacer algunas cuentas sobre ese asunto, por ejemplo, ir con el internista.
MamĂĄ y yo acudimos hoy a consulta con el Dr. Armando MĂĄrquez, mĂ©dico especialista en gastroenterologĂa, porque tenĂamos algunas inquietudes al respecto. No quisiera decir mucho acerca de que se hablĂł allĂ, pero debo decir que el doctor es muy elocuente y asĂ, entre la anamnesis y la charla, el tiempo se fue volando. Me alegra saber que mi mamĂĄ estĂĄ bastante bien y cuando oigo eso, pues siento una paz muy grande. Solo hay que realizar un estudio de descarte, pero lo mĂĄs seguro es que todo estĂ© bien. Por mi parte yo tambiĂ©n estoy bien, pero habĂan algunas cosas que me estaban sucediendo y bueno, siendo honesta en todo este tiempo de visitas a mĂ©dicos no se me habĂa ocurrido chequearme tambiĂ©n. Y creo que lo necesitaba, pero aĂșn faltan algunos estudios mĂĄs para poder dar diagnĂłstico.
Since we left there pretty late, we got caught in the rain and ended up on the street, so we went to eat roast chicken at a place that used to be called âLa Macarena.â Iâd never eaten there before, but I thought it was pretty good: reasonable prices, good food, and good service. We werenât able to eat all that you see there. Weâd ordered that much to take home for our stepdad (based on three people), so if we managed to eat a quarter of it, that was plenty (hahaha). When we left the restaurant, we headed home. Oh, and by the way, the electricity situation in Valencia is unbearableâitâs really crazy to go six hours a day without power. It was a productive day. CĂłmo salimos bastante tarde de allĂ, nos agarro la lluvia y la calle, asĂ que fuimos a comer pollo asado a un lugar que antes se llamaba "La Macarena". Yo nunca habĂa comido allĂ, pero me pareciĂł bastante bueno: buenos precios, buena comida y buen servicio. Todo eso que ven allĂ, no fuimos capaces de comerlo. HabĂamos pedido esa cantidad para llevarle a nuestro padrastro (calculando en funciĂłn de tres personas), asĂ que, si llegamos a comer un cuarto de la comida fue mucho (jajaja). Cuando salimos del restaurante, tomamos camino a casa. Ah y por cierto, en Valencia el tema de la electricidad es una cosa insoportable, realmente una locura pasar 6 h al dĂa sin electricidad. Fue un dĂa productivo. Sin mĂĄs que decir, muchĂsimas gracias por pasar por aquĂ.
