Those whose minds were yet benighted
hide their faces in the folds and clutch at our hems
they say, "I am frightened."
We, the ever vigilant paladins,
opposed to all that is devoid and
Enlightened
Manifesting our destinies of clay which,
in the absence of water,
has been made malleable through blood
Respond
"What is the matter little one?"
"We shall protect you from this night."
They grip tighter still as if only the feel
of threads would restore the innocent aegis
back to their hands.
"I'm afraid of what the future holds…"
Wrapping our arms around them we will whisper,
"Do not be afraid,
the rains will come again."
"Promise?"
"…promise…"
a story, probably less, nothing more.
sometimes I find myself horribly and utterly lost
then suddenly I realize that I'm not lost at all,
I'm just finishing up my journey to this spot right here
and starting the next adventure to that spot over there.
