I have been staring at my screen for over an hour thinking of what to write but couldn't come up with anything, then I realized since this is about freewriting, I could talk about just anything and everything and I decided to talk about writer's block.
Yeah, I guess we will be wondering why I am talking about it but then I realized that for several days I have been experiencing this issue even when I had made a note to try as much as possible to be making at least two to three posts a day but I always find it difficult to come up with a second post after making the first post which only happens to be a contest post or something related.
Considering our urgent I need money and how I have been making some savings depriving myself of withdrawing my HBD to settle some challenges I am facing, I feel that I do not need to be going through such a phase but then, I realized that all writers go through what I call writer's block.
It's okay to not have anything to write, it's okay to feel empty and can not grasp a thing to pen down, it's okay to not be able to put together your words, it doesn't mean you are lazy, it only means your brain is going through a shut down which is needed for the meantime.
All you need to do is either take a long rest or find something to engage yourself that inspires you. It could be reading novels, watching movies, listening to songs, or just hanging out with friends. It doesn't matter if you think you are wasting time, what matters is those things are helping to awaken your brain and also helping to recreate a new idea.
Many times, I have watched movies read novels, and listened to songs that have inspired me to write an article I never knew I would have written, many times just scrolling through my social media handle either Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp status has given me inspiration on what to write. So trying to put yourself together during such a phase in your life doesn't mean you are wasting time or lazy.
I feel all writers have gone through this stage at one point in their lives or another, so it's okay to be a writer and still have Writer's Block. It means your brain has gone through a lot of work and needs rest at such time, it is best you do things that boost your brain or awaken your brain.
Writer's block is a condition, primarily associated with writing, in which an author is unable to produce new work or experiences a creative slowdown. This creative stall is not a result of commitment problems or a lack of writing skills.
Writer's block is not solely measured by time passing without writing. It is measured by time passing without productivity in the task at hand.
It is important that as a writer, we should all know that times like this will come but it is important that we also know that instead of not meeting the task at hand we had set for ourselves, we should look for ways we can reboot or refresh our brains to give us what we want.
Sightseeing could also be a better option, taking pictures of the day's event could also go a long way in igniting our passion for writing at that point.
For anyone going through writer's block, I would say it happens, all you have to do is do something at that moment that brings your brain alive.
To complete the contest rules, I went through @minhajulmredol post after looking for an article to pick and seeing anyone, I decided to go for his with the topic Self Investment.
I could have kept that money somewhere else with an opportunity to earn from them but I felt the need to invest in myself more than that. We gotta find our sweet spots to work on, to be better, to be more skilled, and for that we gotta invest however we need to whether it's financially or both with effort and time.
This phrase got my attention because he is indeed right, instead of saving money for the future, it is important that we also invest our money in ourselves to become a better version of ourselves.
