My room is the secret place where I develop my prayer life with God. It is the place of intimacy where I seek the presence of God. Each of us is called to have a secret place to speak intimately with God and that no one interrupts you.
And when you pray, don't be like the hypocrites; because they love to pray standing up in the synagogues and on the street corners, to be seen by men; I swear you that the have already got their reward. But you, when you pray, enter your room, and closed the door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you in public.
Matthew 6: 6 King James Version (KJV95).
The room is the private place we choose to have fellowship with God. I still remember in my childhood, that when I did something wrong, Dad did not correct me in front of my other brothers, but instead told me to go to your room and wait for me there, I ran very shaky to my room, because I knew that what I was coming was a strong correction. When Dad came to the room, the first thing he did was close the door, because he didn't like my other brothers to find out what he had to say to me or apply the punishment with a whip.
When Dad closed the door, he handled the matter privately. This is what God wants with us, to have in private fellowship and to make the corrections that he has to make or manifest his tenderness through his presence. Behind closed doors, God wants us to speak to him in secret, God wants us to privately have the best opportunity to show him how much we love him and God is pleased with us when we secretly express our feelings and thoughts to him.
When we secretly seek Him, God brings forth the rewards He has for each of His children.
Choose from today a very intimate and private place to communicate with God and rest assured that God will bring your reward in public.
