This is a personal project I've been working on when I can steal some time.
It's a blank skateboard deck carved with a Manaia design. I've painted a black n white underpainting to heighten the depth and will glaze it with greens to give the appearance of green stone.
The manaia is a creature from Maori culture that has the head of a bird, body of a man and tail of a fish. It acts as a messenger between the spirit world and the land of the living.
