Great post. I'm also staking HBD, and have a bit over $2000 too.

Everytime I put some in savings, I think to myself, well there is X amount per year I'm adding. Hopefully HBD survives as long as I do.

One of my own sayings is that it isn't what you make, but what you save that matters long term.

You see folks making $100k per year, but spending $120k per year slowly going broke or deeper into debt.

Meanwhile a school teaching who makes $45k and puts $10k away per year will be the one who can one day retire.
