Thanking God for yet another beautiful day today let's talk about women
The very idea of objectification of women started during the Edenic crisis when Adam referred to his wife like an object of patrimony. "The woman whom thou gavest me.." he said. The descendants of Adam have since then taken it to the extreme.
Women are now defined by their physicalities and sexualities, and it's unfortunate many of them also dance to this stereotype.
A woman is defined by her body parts: nose shape, lip shape, cheek bone, height, complexion, size of mammary glands, posterior curve, size of eyeball. We fail to realise that the wholeness of a woman is greater than the sum of her parts.
Kind of reminds me of the work of William H. Sheldon who created the field of Somatotype and Constitutional Psychology. He classified people into Endomorphs (fat people), Mesomorphs (medium sized people) and Ectomorphs (slim people). He then reduced physique to destiny.
To define a woman by her breast only, for instance, is not too different from this faulty theory. But what exactly is breast? Breast may appear to be an interesting fabric but it is not a fixed quantity. To plot breast on the X and Y axis using quality and time, the slope of the graph will be negative. As time increases, the quality of the breast will be sagging. No variable has ever succeeded in the struggle against time. The whole of creation has been subjected to vanity.
There are so many stars and celebrities with small or no breast. Kera Knighley, Cameron Diaz, Taylor Swift, Claire Danes, Kristen Stewart, Dija etc These women have proven that breast size is not a determinant of success in life.
Women have inspirational capacity, deterministic capacity, draining capacity, inspirational capacity, emotional capacity, high spiritual sensitivity, and many more. And that is what the likes of Aimee Semple McPherson, Katherine Kulman, Mother Theresa, Bimbo Odukoya and other great women of valour have demonstrated.
To define a woman by her physicality and sexuality is a betrayal borne out of pathetic ignorance. History can be consulted, and the facts tell. Women are fearfully and wonderfully made.
