Some days you plan every minute. Today just happened to me, one surprise at a time — and honestly, it was a lot of fun. Let me tell you all about it! 👇
🐕 Morning walk with Choco
Started the day with a nice walk with Choco, our official four-legged supervisor. He approves of pretty much everything as long as there are smells to investigate along the way. 🐾
🔧 The mobile coop: so close!
Back home, we got back to work on the mobile chicken coop in aluminum and steel, and we're almost done! Just a few finishing touches and our hens will officially have their new deluxe camper. 🏗️🐔
💸 Bills: 1 out of 2, not bad
Feeling very responsible, I sat down and paid off a few debts by bank transfer. Look at me, adulting! 💪 ...Aaaand then I remembered, a little too late, that I'd completely forgotten to pay for the €1,300 gas delivery that arrived yesterday. 🙈 In my defense, nobody warned me that "administrative competence" only lasts about half a day before running out.
Gas supplier, if you're reading this: the check is in the mail. Eventually. 😅
🎬 A famous face at San Fiorano
In the afternoon I went to San Fiorano to meet a now-retired German TV director, who spent her career making telefilms — what a fascinating chat! And I also stopped by to say hello to the current Dutch hosts of Casa Bosco, a truly beautiful agriturismo. Small area, big personalities. 🌍
🍻 Bar stop in Secchiano: friends, new faces and a big idea
Then, obligatory stop at the bar in Secchiano, where I ran into a bunch of friends and met some lovely new people too. And since a good bar conversation always needs a good project, I threw out an idea: a Natural Farming Festival — eating, drinking, playing and listening to music, dancing, having fun, and making Fukuoka seed balls together, ready to be scattered on our future "Garden of Eden."
For those who don't know it yet: it's a piece of land right in front of Ca' Paradiso, about one hectare, where we're planning to plant 400 fruit trees, plus all the companion trees needed to support them. A little chaos today, a forest tomorrow. 🌳🌱
Happy ending with a hot chokolate...
