Is the end of the internet as we know it? The union is preparing "ACTA 2". People say "enough" and announce protests!
In the last days we have informed about the amendment of the copyright law approved by the legal committee of the European Parliament. These regulations are to change the rules of publishing and monitoring of content on the Internet, and experts say that in practice they may mean attempts to censor the Internet and limit its users' access to information. Many specialists compared the provisions of the reform to the famous ACTA Act, the introduction of which blocked mass protests and Internet campaigns. Now people have decided to go out into the streets again!

- An attempt to interfere with the structure of the Internet has aroused and continues to raise numerous controversies. We have already done this when trying to force ACTA entries. As it turns out now, the idea of introducing EU regulations covering the Internet is coming back like a boomerang. This time, there are voices suggesting that the new provisions may consequently be an attempt to introduce censorship into the internet
said Piotr Łuczuk, a media expert from the Institute of Media Education and Journalism of UKSW in an interview with the portal niezalezna.pl.
The ACTA implementation plans in 2012 met with strong resistance from the public, including people protested on the streets. Also now - in the face of introducing the provisions of the copyright reform, people decided to go out onto the streets!
"The European Commission intends to introduce a new tool, supposedly to protect copyrights, and in fact to subordinate the information market to the largest media corporations"
