Is that plain water? It kind of looks like some sort of gel... Anyway, recently I found out that one of the best cloning gels is actual real aloe vera. Just snip at tip of, and dip the cutting straight into the inner goo. The aloe vera will heal the wound, and the dipped clone will get tons of rooting hormones. I haven't tried it, but will be buying one soon. I'm a sucker for experimentation.
