Well back when steemit was riddled with bid bots, I did try writing on a fork of steemit called Golos. It seemed like a friendly community - but (and there is always a but!), it turned out they were run by a bunch of Russian scammers.
Anyway, I got cold feet, powered down, and sent the coins to the one exchange listing Golos, which was Livecoin.net. Sold the Golos, bought Doge and thought "Phew, I dodged a bullet". Only Livecoin.net turned out to be a bunch of scammers too and their exchange disappeared along with all my Doge.
You can see why experiences like the above make people cash out coins into fiat. Crypto is such a risky space that if you arn't being robbed you might end up a bagholder instead. It's very hard to keep faith in anything other than bitcoin.
I'm also worried about how dependent Hive is on exchanges like Binance. Binance has the same dodgy vibe that livecoin.net had.
