Splinterlands Share Your Battle — Djinn Oshannus
Not a Rift Card This Week
I have shared battles the last two weeks with new Rift cards and was working through some battles this morning trying to decide what new card to share. Well, after a few battles Djinn Oshannus decided to speak up and say, nope, it isn't all about the shiny new toys 😀 Everyone knows Djinn O is a great card but I thought I'd take some time this week to highlight his strengths.
Djinn Oshannus
🌊 Level 2
🔮 2 Magic Attack
❤️ 11 Health
🏃♂️ 5 Speed
🔧 Void and Phase

Dawn of the Djinn 3 of 4 - The Djinn are angry at the way they were tricked by the Planet, but also appreciative that they can now enjoy this limited freedom, each trapped by natural forces. The Djinn possess powerful ancient magic of their own, which is now charged into the force of one element for each of them. The ancient demons of war are an awkward bunch to be chosen as a planetary defensive force, but they are also impressively capable of the job. As long as they are bound by the Planet, they will do its bidding. Whatever their would-be choices and allegiances, they will fight against the Chaos Legion to protect the sixth mana gate.
Standout Qualities
When I first started playing Splinterlands just under a year ago, Djinn was very expensive because it was spammed with Alric and Venari Wavesmith to make a tough team to beat. Chaos came around and offerd more couters to this strategy and the price dropped significantly.
These days it can typically be purchased for around $2, or if you are lucky it is a reward card that can show up in chests. It is still a powerful card and being more affordable it is even easier to level him up and gain additional benefits. Void at level one is great, but phase at level two make sit an even greater play to protect against magic attacks.

BATTLE EXAMPLES
Here are two great battle examples that showcase Djinn O's abilities, particularly against a heavy dose of magic attacks 🔮🔮🔮
| Here both Phase and Void were needed to pull off the victory |
| In this battle I used a very similar lineup, but received a bit more support from the back line |
Wrap Up
Kelya led teams tend to be susceptible to magic damage as the armor buff becomes less useful. Adding both Void, Phase and a high health card to the equation can tip the scales back in your favor. If you are playing Modern and can't use Alric, Djinn O can still be a very strong piece of many lineups.
