I started playing Rust last month. I learned there are many ways to die!
I am not a big gamer. I grew up with an NES and graduated to PlayStation and fell in love with the Final Fantasy series and sports games, but after that I haven't played much. I dabble in Minecraft and Terraria with my son, played through Breath of the Wild and will throw down some Mario Kart anytime, but that's about it these days.
When the Pizza family started talking up Rust and it went on sale on Steam, I jumped in. Sure my system can barely handle the game but I thought it would be fun to give it a shot and play with the community. Well, what I found is there are so many ways to die in this game. Keep in mind this is on a server that PVP is minimal. I'm managing to find ways to die that don't involve other players 🤣 Here's a brief sample of the many ways I found to end it all.

| I couldn't turn around the first few days I was playing and not find myself being impaled by a boar, or two and even once three at a time. The funny thing is they aren't that difficult to kill, I just couldn't seem to avoid them and get my act together enough to handle them. | |

There are many more I could share, such as the time I was mauled by a bear, and then when I went back to loot my remains, the same bear got me again 🤣 In case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm not very good at this game 😀

@bacon-dub doesn't mind me sharing his artwork? Building can lead down an endless rabbit hole with electrical wiring, gardening and even setting up your own vending machines. This game seems endless and I've barely scratched the surface. Oh did I mention you can build vehicles and set up a road trip with your friends? I didn't manage to make the timing work to join the road trip, but it sounded fun!
I haven't dared to join other public servers which I hear is a bit like jumping into a Lord of the Flies novel, but I am quiet happy on the more chill PIZZA server. The server wipes the first Thursday of the month, but you get to keep all the shiny blueprints you researched, so we have just started a new round. I managed to live through two nights, without dying, and have already placed two sleeping bags around the map. Which is good because this month's map is HUGE! Sound intriguing?
