I find the phenomenon particularly fascinating when the sun shines through the fog and the sunlight is cut into “stripes” by the trees. To capture these moments, I often head out into the forest.

In Germany they say: "All good things come in threes". So today I present you with the third and final part of my report on the "Open studios in Steinhagen" cultural event.

This is the second part of the open ateliers 2025 report. I invite you to look over my shoulder during the lightpainting portrait performance.

Last weekend, the studios in Steinhagen opened their doors to visitors. Interested Visitors were portrayed by me and followed live on screen how the light painting portrait was created.

As already announced, I am no longer limiting myself to light-painting and am now getting into photography with invisible light. I started my first attempts with IR photography.

Part two follows today, using other techniques that show a slightly simpler method of capturing star trails.

As I announced in my last post, today is not about light painting, or is it? At least I'm not actively painting with light, but the Earth's rotation and the stars are doing the work for me.

How time flies! I've been posting something about light painting here every Sunday for tree years now and there's still no end in sight.

Lightpainting with laser on an abandoned hangar of the soviet army...

Light painting on the pool table? Not a bad idea! Or is it? I couldn't really think of much to do. But I still wanted to try it out.

With a little willingness to experiment, you can also get usable pictures with your smartphone that are far outside the mainstream. Here I show an example, recorded during a ballet show.

The Life in Brasil seems to be a bit more dangerous. It can sometimes happen that a rattlesnake crosses your path. This post shows a light painting of a skeleton of a reptile.

The third part of swimming pool -Light painting is about camera rotation. Here I show two different tools that were used for this. See for yourself what fantastic images are created by camera rotation

The circumstances for the second part of the lightpainting at the swimming pool were not ideal that night, as the neighboring property was very brightly lit. Nevertheless, I wanted to give it a try.

It's summer in Brazil and the water in the swimming pool is pleasantly warm. Reason enough to try light painting in the swimming pool. See the results in this post.
