The Power Station

On the second night of our light painting adventure on the former military airfield, I had the power plant on my wish list. Unfortunately, only the building with the chimney and a few pipes is left. All other plant parts have been removed.

Making Of

Hmmm, what do you make of it? OK. In the power plant, water is heated to drive turbines or water is used as a medium to transfer heat. This inspired me to immerse the building in a deep blue and to bring a few round air bubbles into the picture, like those that occur when water boils. For this I used a Convoy S2+ with a blue LED to light the room and a tool from FOTORGEAR with a round blade to paint the bubbles.
Hmmm, was macht man daraus? Ok.

Stay tuned for the next adventures from the deserted military airfield. The next episode is coming soon.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?

Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.
