Last week published here a post about a light painting in Siberia. I would like to build on that and stay in Russia. In December 2019 I traveled to Moscow on business. As always, I had my small photo-backpack with me. I was lucky this time
Having Nikolay Trebukhin ( @yo-hoho ) by my side. We arranged to meet via Facebook and met in front of my hotel in the middle of Moscow. He too had brought his small bag with minimal equipment. Although I had 5 years of Russian at school, which still helps me to read the Cyrillic script, Google helped us with communication, because my vocabulary was hardly trained in 40 years and is now almost completely buried in unused brain regions.
Letzte Woche ver枚ffentlichte hier einen Beitrag 眉ber ein Lightpainting in Sibirien. Daran m枚chte ich ankn眉pfen und in Russland bleiben. Im Dezember 2019 reiste ich dienstlich nach Moskau. Wie immer hatte ich meinen kleinen Fotorucksack dabei. Dieses Mal hatte ich das Gl眉ck
Nikolay Trebukhin ( @yo-hoho ) an meiner Seite zu haben. Wir hatten uns 眉ber Facebook verabredet und trafen uns mitten in Moskau vor meinem Hotel. Auch er hatte seine kleine Tasche mit Minimal-Equipment mitgebracht. Ich hatte zwar 5 Jahre Russisch in der Schule, was mir nach wie vor beim Lesen der Kyrillischen Schrift hilft, bei der Verst盲ndigung half uns aber Google weiter, da mein Vokabular 40 Jahre kaum trainiert wurde und jetzt fast komplett versch眉ttet in ungebrauchten Hirnregionen liegt.
We started towards Gorky Park. It's just teeming with motives there. Sculptures of past heads of state, old symbols of the Soviet republic and also modern art are lined up on the right bank of the Moskva. Everything was decorated and illuminated for Christmas, which made light painting difficult. After a short time we caught the attention of a police officer who naturally wanted to know what we were doing there. After a short, friendly conversation we were allowed to continue. In the picture below I show a scene with Orb from Gorky Park.
Wir starteten in Richtung Gorky Park. Dort wimmelt es nur so von Motiven. Skulpturen vergangener Staatsoberh盲upter, alte Symbole der Sowjetrepublik und auch moderne Kunst reihen sich am rechten Ufer der Moskwa aneinander. Alles war Weihnachtlich geschm眉ckt und beleuchtet, was ein Lightpainting erschwerte. Nach kurzer Zeit erregten wir die Aufmerksamkeit eines Polizisten, der nat眉rlich wissen wollte, was wir dort tun. Nach einem kurzen, freundlichen Gespr盲ch durften wir weitermachen. Im Bild unten zeige ich eine Szene mit Orb aus dem Gorky Park.
We took the metro to a hidden place that Nikolai really wanted to show me. We walked a bit from the metro station. Between houses and dumpsters, a narrow path wound its way up a slope. From there, the view opened up across the Moscow River to an impressive skyline of Moscow City. After all, there are 7 of the 10 tallest buildings in Europe!
Wir fuhren mit der Metro weiter an einen versteckten Platz, den mir Nikolai unbedingt zeigen wollte. Von der Metro-Station liefen wir ein St眉ck. Zwischen H盲usern und M眉llcontainern schl盲ngelte sich ein schmaler Weg zu einem Hang. Von dort 枚ffnete sich der Blick 眉ber die Moskwa auf eine beeindruckende Skyline von Moskau City. Immerhin stehen dort 7 der 10 h枚chsten Geb盲ude Europas!
In this picture, a light blade with a flashlight was used. In the title picture I had put a piece of transparent plastic water pipe on a Lightpaintingparadise adapter. In the picture below I show the scene without a light painting. At this point I would like to thank @yo-hoho again for the friendly support! Without him I would never have found this location in Moscow.
In diesem Bild kam ein Light-Blade mit Taschenlampe zum Einsatz. Im Titelbild hatte ich ein St眉ck transparente Plastik-Wasserleitung auf einen Lightpaintingparadise -Adapter gesteckt. Unten im Bild zeige ich die Szene ohne ein Lightpainting. An dieser Stelle m枚chte ich mich nochmals f眉r die freundliche Unterst眉tzung von @yo-hoho bedanken! Ohne ihn h盲tte ich diese Location in Moskau nie gefunden.
The next day I made my way to Gorky Park again alone. I revisited the place where the sculptures and symbols of the Soviet Republic were "parked". This time only equipped with two flashlights and a black fiberglass. When I placed my camera and stroked the sculptures with the brush, I occasionally got a few disbelieving looks, especially from the older park visitors. However, I was not addressed. Maybe they thought my performance was a mysterious ritual?
Am n盲chsten Tag machte ich mich nochmal allein auf den Weg in den Gorky Park. Ich besuchte noch einmal die Stelle, an der die Skulpturen und Symbole der Sowjetrepublik "geparkt" wurden. Diesmal nur mit zwei Taschenlampen und einem schwarzen Glasfiber ausger眉stet. Als ich meine Kamera platziert hatte und mit dem Pinsel 眉ber die Skulpturen strich, erntete ich gelegentlich ein paar ungl盲ubige Blicke besonders von den 盲lteren Parkbesuchern. Angesprochen wurde ich jedoch nicht. Vielleicht hielten sie meine Performance f眉r ein geheimnisvolles Ritual?
Lenin is still omnipresent in Russia. It seems that people here deal with the past in a relaxed manner. These oversized busts in Gorky Park are surrounded by the writings and symbols of the "Seven Sisters", the seven skyscrapers built in the style of Stalin's socialist classicism.
Lenin ist in Russland noch allgegenw盲rtig. Man geht hier scheinbar unverkrampft mit der Vergangenheit um. Umgeben sind diese 眉berdimensionalen B眉sten im Gorky Park von den Schriften und Symbolen der "Sieben Schwestern", den sieben, im Stil Stalins Sozialistischen Klassizismus erbauten Hochh盲usern.
You can also meet Stalin in Gorky Park. I painted the busts with black glass fiber on an LEDLenser P7Q (in blue) and illuminated the surroundings with a KLARUS XT11GT with an orange filter.
Auch Stalin trifft man imm Gorky Park noch an. Die B眉sten habe ich mit schwarzen Glasfiber an einer LEDLenser P7Q (in blau) bemalt und die Umgebung mit einer KLARUS XT11GT mit orangem Filter beleuchtet.
The Soviet head of state Brezhnev is also present here. The picture emerged like the above two. The house with Soviet architecture in the background gave me a little shake when I accidentally kicked my tripod. What I later discovered as a new stylistic device for myself. 馃槈
Auch das sowjetische Staatsoberhaupt Breschnew ist hier pr盲sent. Das Bild entstand wie die obigen beiden. Das Haus mit sowjetischer Architektur im Hintergrund ist mir etwas verwackelt, als ich unbeabsichtigt gegen mein Stativ trat. Was ich im Nachhinein als neues Stilmittel f眉r mich entdeckt habe. 馃槈
