Ahaha oh this is such a fun ending, having gone entirely bonkers crazy from nine years cooped up alone, no wonder he really snapped when it was time to go. I love the relief team not being relief for the shift, but for him, cos he's mad as a hatter and twice as enthused and needs physically dragging away.
I have this wonderful image of them having rung Hugo, and tried to get him to leave, and him refusing again and again, until they tell him they are coming for him.
Another brilliant blend of fun, humour and a twinge of the fear of the unknown/new, with a touch of the way loneliness wears on the soul.
