"Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going too fast- you also miss the sense of where you are going and why."

Eddie Cantor

Amidst the busy and frenetic activities, how fabulous it is to escape this hustle and bustle and just go to places for hiking and contemplation.

Glad I found one place where I could enjoy its quietness, breathe the fresh new air, enjoy the simple sight, and just let my mind go with the flow just like the placid water and of course exercise. The humble sight I am referring to is the Bagatayam Falls of Sogod. Cebu.

Unlike in the South, Northern Cebu rarely has waterfalls as majestic as the South has, we rarely have this kind of body of water. So finding this Lil gem in the North is like finding a piece of paradise.

How I discovered this lovely place for my hikes?

This is not my first time hiking in this beautiful and small waterfall, but I couldn't forget how I found this lovely spot. I discovered the place when one time our vehicle got malfunctioned on our way to the city, and we happened to leave our vehicle on this street going to Bagatayam. Since then, I visited the place oftentimes to stroll and hike.

The waterfall is located just beside the street, so every time I walk around the place, I don't just meet the people living in this community but also, I was able to hear the raging water and the happy laugh of the locals taking a bath in the river.

This is the nth time that the water tempted me to walk on it and enjoy the river. The river is good for trekking and going to Binaliw spring.

Isn't it amazing strolling this place and enjoying this view of the green lagoon?

From the waterfall, I continued my hike and saw these locals doing their laundry on the river. Yes, the river is clean enough for the locals to wash their clothes and sometimes wash their dishes on the river.

Another group of locals doing the laundry. What an active day isn't it?

Strolling back and forth in this lovely view!

When I hike in Bagatayam, I spend 30 percent of my time first staring at the river falling before I start my stroll. It felt refreshing and relaxing hearing the sound of it and seeing the white water bubbles forming due to the force and pressure of the water.

On some of my hikes, I see some children swimming in the river, but this time, there were no kids enjoying the river.

Enjoying my stroll.

I also saw this acacia tree that has plenty of ferns growing on it. The ferns almost spread to the entire stem and branches of the tree. Sometimes I think, that in growing we need those people with whom we have the support to grow and glow just like this fern and the acacia tree. There is so much mutualism in it!

What I love about this place also, is
its quiet and peaceful street. One could enjoy strolling back and forth in the wide street as there are only a few vehicles that will pass this place.

Aside from the peaceful street and scenic view of the waterfall, hiking and strolling in this place is much more convenient because of the convenience store in the surroundings. One can easily buy the food and water they need during the hike.

As we all knew the health benefits of walking and strolling, we cannot deny the positive impacts it gives on our mental health. No matter how short or long the walk is, how hard and easy it is, we always learn and reap something from it.

That's it all for today's stroll of mine guys. Thank you so much for reading! Stay healthy and safe everyone!

"After a days walk, everything has twice its usual value".
