For this reason, every time I need to disconnect from the world, I like to learn some new way and reproduce it so many times until I manage to retain it in my memory forever. On this occasion, I learned how to make a small box, of low difficulty and I want to share with you step by step. I hope you like it!
Es increible la cantidad de obras que pueden realizarse con solo un trozo de papel, me encanta! por ese motivo, cada vez que necesito desconectarme del mundo, me gusta aprender alguna forma nueva y reproducirlo tantas veces hasta lograr retenerlo en mi memoria para siempre. en esta ocasión, aprendi a hacer una pequeña caja, de baja dificultad y quiero compartirles el paso a paso. espero les guste!

Well friends, without further ado, let's begin!
To make this small box, we will only need 16 squares of paper, these will be distributed into 8 papers for the base, and 8 for the lid. The squares can be any size you want, as long as all the sides measure exactly the same.
In my case I used:
-lid: 9cm x 9cm
-base: 8.5cm x 8.5cm
Bien amigos, sin mas vueltas, comencemos!para realizar esta pequeña caja, solo necesitaremos 16 cuadrados de papel, éstos de distribuirán en 8 papeles para la base, y 8 para la tapa. los cuadrados pueden ser de las medidas que ustedes deseen, siempre y cuando, todos los lados midan exactamente igual.
en mi caso yo utilicé:
-tapa: 9cm x 9cm
-base: 8,5cm x 8,5cm
I have always said that explaining origami through text is quite complicated, that's why I added some stickers to the images to make it as understandable as possible.
Well, we'll start with the cover. To do this, we will take one of our squares of paper, and we will fold it right in half diagonally, we will mark the fold well. We will return to the initial shape and repeat this step with the opposite side. We open the paper again.

Siempre he dicho que explicar un origami por texto es bastante complicado, por eso añadí algunos stickers a las imágenes para hacerlo lo mas entendible posible.Bien, comenzaremos por la tapa. Para ello, tomaremos uno de nuestros cuadrados de papel, y lo doblaremos justo a la mitad de manera diagonal, marcaremos bien el doblez. volveremos a la forma inicial y repetiremos este paso con el lado contrario. nuevamente abrimos el papel.
Nos debería quedar marcada una cruz atravesando el papel.
Then we will take each of the points of the triangle towards its center. achieving 4 flaps.
Next, we will leave the upper flap open, and we will bring the opposite (lower) flap up to the fold mark of the first one. ensuring that the tip of this flap fits perfectly in the center of the fold of the upper flap that we left open.

We will fold, from the inside out, just in half vertically. (the sides should be exposed where we can still see the flaps we made previously).
Let's say now our piece is like a "book" with two flaps that meet on the right side. Well, now we will take (only the one on the top flap of the "book") the upper left corner so that its entire left side is perfectly aligned with the diagonal marked in the center of the piece.
As it is, we will turn the piece from right to left, (that is, the back of the "book" is now on the front) and we will repeat the process of folding the upper left corner until it aligns with the diagonal of the center.
Doblaremos, desde el interior hacia afuera justo por la mitad de manera vertical. (deberán quedar expuestos los lados donde aun podemos ver las solapas que hicimos previamente).Digamos que ahora nuestra pieza es como un "libro" de dos solapas que se unen en el lado derecho. Bueno, pues, ahora llevaremos (solo la de la solapa de arriba del "libro") la esquina superior izquierda de manera que todo su lado izquierdo quede perfectamente alineado con la diagonal marcada en el centro de la pieza.
así como queda, le daremos vuelta a la pieza de derecha a izquierda, (es decir que la parte de atrás del "libro" ahora la tenemos en el frente) y repetiremos el proceso de doblar la esquina superior izquierda hasta alinearla con la diagonal del centro.
To conclude with this section of the box, we will put our index finger inside the two flaps and open the base part, making sure that the upper folds do not come apart.
Once ready, we will repeat the entire process with the other 7 remaining papers to obtain all the sections of the cover.
Para concluir con esta sección de la caja, pondremos el dedo índice por dentro de las dos solapas y abriremos la parte de la base, procurando que no se desarmen los dobleces superiores.Una vez listo, repetiremos todo el proceso con los otro 7 papeles restantes para obtener todas las secciones de la tapa.
Once we have all the sections, it remains to join them.
I'm not going to lie to you, joining all the parts is quite tedious the first time, because when you get to the last pieces, the ones we joined at the beginning begin to fall apart, but with patience it is achieved, and then it is easier.
To join them we only have to insert the right part of the base of each piece, along the diagonal marked on the left part of the next piece, and so on with all the others until forming an octagon.
Una vez tengamos todas las secciones, queda unirlas.No les voy a mentir, unir todas las partes es bastante tedioso la primera vez, porque cuando llegas a las ultimas piezas, comienza a desarmarse las que unimos al principio, pero con paciencia se logra, y ya luego es mas fácil.
para unirlas solo debemos introducir la parte derecha de la base de cada pieza, por la diagonal marcada en la parte izquierda de la siguiente pieza, y así con todas las demás hasta formar un octógono.
You will notice that at the top of the octagon, 8 peaks protrude. By arranging all the parts well, those peaks will go down forming a kind of star.
The last step will be to fold each tip and fold it under the next tip. In this way, another smaller octagon will be formed. and we would have the lid of our box ready.
Notarán que en la parte superior del octógono, sobresalen 8 picos. al acomodar bien todas las partes, esos picos bajaran formando una especie de estrella.El ultimo paso será doblar cada punta y plegarla por debajo de la punta siguiente. de esta forma, se formará otro octógono mas pequeño. y ya tendríamos lista la tapa de nuestra caja.
For the base part, we must repeat the entire process exactly with the 8 papers, with the only difference, that each of these papers must measure a few millimeters less, so that both parts of our box fit together perfectly.
Para la parte de la base, debemos repetir exactamente todo el proceso con los 8 papeles, con la única diferencia, que cada uno de estos papeles deberán medir algunos milímetros menos, para que ambas partes de nuestra caja embonen a la perfección.
And that's it friends! I know that perhaps when reading it and seeing the photographs, it seems like a tedious job, but I promise you that after making the first piece, everything else will be super fast. It didn't take me even half an hour to do it and the result is very beautiful! You can also make the box size you want simply by altering the measurements of the papers, but the process is the same.
Y listo amigos! se que quizás al leerlo y ver las fotografías, pareciera un trabajo tedioso, pero les prometo que luego de realizar la primer pieza, todo lo demás será super rápido. no he tardado ni mitad de hora en realizarlo y el resultado es muy bello! también puedes hacer el tamaño de caja que desees simplemente alterando las medidas de los papeles, pero el proceso es el mismo.
