Como ya he contado antes, hace dos meses nos mudamos con mi familia, salimos de la gran ciudad para buscar un poco más de tranquilidad y naturaleza. Así fue que llegamos a este pueblito en alguna parte de la provincia de Córdoba, Argentina.
Aquí es moneda corriente vivir en pequeñas comunidades, en cabañas de barro, huertas, centros de compostaje y este estilo de vida sana y sobre todo respetuosa con la naturaleza.
As I have already told before, two months ago we moved with my family, we left the big city to look for a little more tranquility and nature. So it was that we got to this little town somewhere in the province of Córdoba, Argentina.Here it is commonplace to live in small communities, in mud huts, orchards, composting centers and this healthy lifestyle and above all respectful of nature.
Nuestra forma de vida cambio bastante, y aún estamos acostumbrandonos a hacer cosas de las cuales un año atrás no hubiésemos imaginado. Como tener que prender un fuego para bañarse.

Desde sólo girar una perilla a buscar y quemar leña para obtener agua caliente.
Los días soleados son muy importantes en esta región. No sólo para lavar la ropa, sino también es ideal para recorrer los pequeños bosques en busca de ramas, troncos y corteza.
Todos salimos con cajas a recorrer estos espacios para abastecernos de este combustible. Todo lo que podamos cargar será bienvenido.
From just turning a knob to fetching and burning wood to get hot water. Sunny days are very important in this region. Not only for washing clothes, but also ideal for exploring small forests in search of branches, logs and bark. We all went out with boxes to tour these spaces to stock up on this fuel. Anything we can upload will be welcome.
Luego, comenzamos a quemar.
Por fuera de las casas, hay un artefacto al que se le llama "quematuti". Ésto es un cilindro metálico que contiene agua y por debajo, una especie de Salamandra donde quemaremos la leña y esto calentará el agua que se seguirá cargando a medida en la que usaremos el agua caliente.
Then we start to burn. Outside the houses, there is an artifact called "quematuti". This is a metal cylinder that contains water and underneath, a kind of Salamander where we will burn the firewood and this will heat the water that will continue to be loaded as we use the hot water.
Algo muy importante es que siempre alguien debe estar vigilando que no vuelen brasas porque eso podría iniciar un incendio, teniendo en cuenta de que estamos rodeados de pura vegetación que en invierno se seca por completo.

Es algo laborioso pero pensando en lo que ahorramos en gas y en lo amigable que es este procedimiento con el medio ambiente, lo hace fascinante.
