This is my best friend / step-cousin Amanda. I took this shot of her one beautiful fall day when she was up visiting from L.A. I'm always looking to add more portraits to my book, and she likes to have pretty pictures of herself so we had a grand time playing around and getting some shots.
I've been photographing her since we were young- an aspiring model and an aspiring photographer spending days creating crappy photos. We did both eventually get better, and we still enjoy photo shoots as one of our favourite things to do together.
I kinda liked the look of having this one be a bit grungy and less-than-perfect. I was going through a phase of doing this at the time- I shot that portrait of Kyle the same week.

Natural light, backlit. And yes that's my trusty crystal giving the weird effects.
