Today's live music showcase features our 34th weekly live music event, with the following theme: “Hands On”. Highlights include songs from around the world: Ireland, Indonesia, Venezuela, USA... Our community stands for global harmony, celebrating the songs of many nations, all sharing a love for live music—the universal language. Let's have a listen.

It's a real treat seeing and hearing @mipiano work her magic on the keys. Her fingers are incredibly fast. I am impressed, and inspired, wondering what might happen if I invest some energy into the piano, and try quickening my finger-picking on the guitar. Lots to imagine when there are talented musicians in our midst. I am grateful. This song comes from Italian composer, Muzio Clementi.

@rezasofyan introduces his home in Indonesia, with a lush green hilly countryside behind him. I feel grateful to see this side of him—feels good to get to know this artist in this way. Here, he shares a song of Indonesian origin, by Iwan Fals, carrying the song beautifully.

My entry this week is a work-in-progress, prompted by our theme: “Hands On.” It’s a pretty melody and a sweet sentiment presented with a simple chord progression. Although it is pretty basic, the words mean a lot to me in this moment.

Inspiration

Ani Difranco is an extraordinary singer-songwriter. To me, she is a visionary, stretching the ceilings of what folk music could be. One thing I admire most about Ani's music is her inventive guitar work. She is an excellent guitarist, with a range of different playing styles and seemingly endless imagination. Here's a good example of her live music mastery.

Appreciation

I am grateful for the various ways this event stretches me as a music maker and a generous listener. I enjoy the surprises, discovering songs that inspire me. I get the impression we're all making progress, sharing our art with the world, making steady steps toward global harmony. And our unique way of honoring artists is centered around live music. How fun!
