Kind XL1000 LED Growlight Review
This is an amazing product from Kind LEDs that is supposedly the equivalent of a 1000w HID or Metal Halide light.
This light is good to cover a 4x4 or a 5x5 growing area. A friend of mine in California uses this same light to cover a 5x5 growing area and he does very well growing bud. Some people say you need a bit of supplemental light in the corner if you go with a 5x5 box, but it doesn’t seem like my friend had any kind of problems without it.
He averages between 1 and 1.4 pounds with his 5x5 box growing between 5-6 plants at a time.
The Kind LED puts off minimal heat, and that makes it perfect for warmer climates like Southern California.
There are many features with the Kind XL1000, but some complain that it is too complicated to work. Watching YouTube videos will help all of this. Here are some of the feautures:
Built in timer
Dusk to Dawn nature mimic mode- you can turn this mode on to slowly adjusts the intensity of the light when it is turned on and then slowly turn the intensity down as it is about to turn off. This is more natural than flipping a light on and off and is said to help the plant in it’s development.
Spectrum control- change the reds, blues, and whites and make yourself a custom spectrum schedule to give your plant exactly what it needs, when it needs it.
3w and 5w diodes- most LED lights are composed of only 3w diodes but Kind throws in the 5’s to increase the intensity and effectiveness with this light.
Remote control- change the settings of the light without having to physically touch the light itselfz
Infrared spectrums- helps the trichomes of the plant explode!
Another benefit of this light is the fact that it only draws just over 600w of electricity. While maintaining the ability to yield as much as an HPS light, it drops the the bill if replacing a non-led equivalent.
This is a great light that comes highly recommended. The only drawback is the high price tag, but this pays for itself when you think about the longevity of LEDs and savings on electricity.
