Another day is in the books for 2018 and it was a mixed day for crypto. The total market cap of all crypto is about the same as it was 24 hours ago.
Bitcoin had a down day, losing 6 percent and bringing it's market cap back down to $268.927 billion dollars and making each coin worth about $16,000.
Ethereum had a great day rising to a new all time high at about $1250 each and a $120.966 billion dollar market cap. Here is a post that I wrote earlier today on Ethereum's great day, why it rose, and what challenges it might have in the future. Ethereum is now only a little over $3 billion dollars behind Ripple to regain the #2 spot in total market cap value for a cryptocurrency.
1. Dentacoin- 196 percent gain to $0.00711 and a $2.312 billion dollar market cap
2. DeepBrain Chain- 47 percent gain to $0.418 and a $376 million dollar market cap
3. ICON- 33.5 percent gain to $10.82 and a $4.095 billion dollar market cap
4. Chainlink- 33 percent gain to $1.39 and a $486 million dollar market cap
5. KuCoin Shares- 31.5 percent gain to $19.07 and a $1.736 billion dollar market cap
6. aelf- 30 percent gain to $2.54 and a $634 million dollar market cap
7. OmiseGo (OMG)- 30 percent gain to $26.57 and a $2.711 billion dollar market cap
8. BLOCKv- 26 percent gain to $0.3105 and a $418 million dollar market cap
9. Quantstamp- 25 percent gain to $0.792 and a $488 million dollar market cap
10. Populous- 25 percent gain to $53.76 and a $1.989 billion dollar market cap
1. Binance Coin (BNB)- 18 percent loss to $17.16 and a $1.699 billion dollar market cap
2. Qtum- 17 percent loss to $80.40 and a $5.933 billion dollar market cap
3. DigitalNote- 16.5 percent loss to $0.0714 and a $492 million dollar market cap
4. PACcoin- 16 percent loss to $0.000159 and a $400 million dollar market cap
5. BitConnect(could possibly be a ponzi scheme in the making so beware, but I do have some invested and have never had problems cashing out)- 12.5 percent loss to $375.88 and a $2.321 billion dollar market cap
MANA gained 8 percent taking it to $0.217 and Enjin Coin was down about 9 percent to $0.431.
Steem stayed fairly stagnant today losing less than half of a percent and winding up with a price of $6.24 and a $1.535 billion dollar market cap. Steem Dollars were also quiet gaining less than half of a percent to $7.90.
Overall it was a hit or miss type of day in crypto where some of my favorites were up and some were down.
