I was listening to a song, and one of the verses, part of the chorus I think, was "My life for the freedom of a night at sea."
It got me thinking, as a mariner.
We offer exactly that for every day we spend in the Mother's embrace.
Neptune is our father.
Death is our brother.
The Sea is our mother.
Every one of us offers our very existence in exchange for each day at sea.
Occasionally, the mother accepts our offering.
