Life before the digital age was interesting, but it was not all sunshine. There were boring days too. I can remember back then, whenever I did not go to school for certain reasons, it was always boring until others returned from school.

Life is generally boring if your friends are not at home because there is nothing exciting to do. Once the cartoon that we watched ended around 8, we just had to find a way not to die of boredom. But when everyone was around, we would go to the field, play ball, and engage in other physical activities. That was the highlight of the offline world and what made it interesting.

Our fathers would gather in beer parlour joints, drinking and gisting, but those kinds of setups had their own disadvantages too, because we had people who did not love you drinking with you, and that was where some would poison others. But thanks to the digital age, no one can poison you online even if they hate you.

Even though it was not all our fathers who went to beer parlours to drink, some found joy in reading newspapers in their houses while sipping a glass of wine. Some would take a stroll to a friend's house to have a drink, while others spent their time watching movies. Oh well, I would not know much about them because I was not a father at that time, but that is the little I know.

Since online became a thing, physical connection has reduced gradually until it became uncommon. Most people prefer to connect with their online buddies rather than physically, and there is no age dispute online.

Offline, it is harder to make friends because some will start proving that they are older than you. But online, you can even be friends with people 20 years older than you and talk freely with each other. That is another beauty of the online world, but we should not take such friendships for granted.

The only problem I see with the online world and losing interest in the physical world is the sedentary lifestyle, which now makes people exercise less and move their bodies less than they should. This lifestyle seems to weaken our immune system as we stop doing things that make us strong. Our forefathers were so strong due to the hard work they did, but most people nowadays are living a soft life.

Aside from that, the online world is far better than the offline world, in my opinion. It keeps you safe from people who can harm you. It also prevents people from invading your privacy. You can choose who you want to meet physically from your online friends, unlike offline, where people can just appear without informing you.

So, the online world is the best and there is no consequence of choosing online over offline... IMO.
