When it comes to something that is trending right now in my country, I do not think anything beats the trending Lagos Life website.

Isn't it funny how many Nigerians are trying to escape life in Lagos because of the money needed to survive in that state, but then here we find ourselves voluntarily experiencing that same Lagos life in the virtual world?

What makes the virtual Lagos life exciting is how people can relate to it: the local food, the hustle, money, girls and so many other things that make Lagos what it is.

The first time I got to know about it was 3 to 4 days ago through a neighbour's status. I was wondering what it was all about. I even thought maybe it was a website she was creating for her company because she is a product manager. But then I saw it on another person's status, and that was when I knew there was something more to it.

I entered TikTok and saw it there again, and it was on TikTok that I understood what it was all about.

Everybody is rich in this virtual world, and you can spend your money anyhow. You can give babes money, you can be who you want to be, unlike in the real world where most people find it difficult to live the life they want.

We cannot suffer in two places. At least if the real world cannot fulfil our dreams, we should be able to live those big dreams in the virtual world. The owner of this website thought things through before creating it, and I guess one of her goals was to make people happy by allowing them to live the life they really hope to live in the real world on her website.

Last I heard, she had already made $46,900 within a few days of creating Lagos Life, and someone had even offered her $100,000 to sell the website to him, but she refused, saying the company is now valued at $1 billion. Crazy, right?

Although I really do not believe that the app is worth $1 billion at the moment, $100,000 is small if she can make almost half of that within four days of the app going viral. She could easily earn more than that in the coming weeks. The sad part is that the users are not earning anything; only the creator is earning from the game.

And with that kind of development, I believe people will soon get bored of that lifestyle when reality hits them.

People are already connecting on this site like they do on other social media platforms. A funny story I heard there was about a man who was a billionaire on the site and was always showing love to the girls there. During a chat with one of the ladies he met there, she asked him for real money, thinking the guy would be generous in real life. The moment she billed the guy, he blocked her immediately, lol.

He is only rich on Lagos Life and not a reckless spender in the real world.

Somehow, I am yet to try this app, and I am not sure I am going to because I already know what it entails and I do not have spare time for such things. But I find it interesting, and I love that it makes my fellow Nigerians happy while it lasts.
