I'm very excited to come into the STEEM community.
I'm Charles, 41, french guy with 2 daughters and a wonderful wife,
proud to be a geek even if this denomination could be a little bit negative for "normal" people, but i'm trying to heal myself as I can ;-)
Except when I'm going deeper into cryptocurrencies, I'm going crazy as I find this wonderful, as my first emotion, and harmful as well when I very think about it (maybe I will develop it to another post).
I'm not this kind of bling-bling and glittering clothes geek, I like sobre technology when should be useful without showing itself.
At home, we don't have TV, first at all for my daughters, they are 2 and 4, between 0 and 6 it's so important to avoid this kind of addition IMO. And I'm trying as well to found the best old-school spirit Linux distribution with an easy command-line-interface order them of learning computer science in the good way. Yet I didn't found the graal.
I code my first program when I was 11, with a TRS-80 model III with 2 5¼ floppy disc drives :
One drive for OS, and the other for data, instead of switching with both if I had only one drive. Wow! It was luxury at the time.
For now, I'm working as web developer, system administrator and DBA for http://www.free-scores.com.
This website has launched by my brother in 2001. So we work everyday together, so lucky we are ! Free-scores has over than 100 000 sheet music directly accessible and legally for everyone without logging to it. We believe culture should be available for all. It's so grateful to work in such musical and freedom universe even it's not easy everyday.

And I like taking photos my Pentax K-r, I invest in it especially for seeing how my daughters growing up (I won't show them on public place).
So to come back to the cryptocurrency and STEEM, IMO there are so many things to do.
first of them it's emancipate websites from (dirty ans spying) advertising.
For instance, Monero is implemented on one of my very first and old website called http://www.root-top.com, throught https://coinhive.com mining with opt-in option (of course) as a test.
And ... it works even if the website earns less, advertising are removed from pages where you can mining Monero. Independance.
There is also a redistribution system to participate website till 30% reward in Monero to enter the mining game.

I think when cryptocurrencies will go more mature, most of websites should find a cryptocurrency adaptive to its content, I'm pretty sure.
