I finally got around to packing up the Sterling scrap I bought recently. Even with the massive price drop from a little over a week ago, I'll still end up with a few heavily-discounted ounces to add to the stack.
In my previous post I mentioned selling off the Sterling necklaces I got for at least 30% under melt. Selling those at a premium helped drastically reduce my overall cost. Even after shipping and the refiner taking their cut, I'll still be looking good.
I may have to look at auctions that are predominantly made up of chains. They seem to be fairly liquid and generally well-liked to be able to consistently sell them at a premium. I'll post an update once I get this lot back and see where things end up.
