One of the good things that came from COVID is an entire industry centered around delivery to people's homes. It can be retail goods, food, gas station snacks, beer, wine or even auto parts. You name it, if it's in a store then you can have DoorDash, UberEats or GrubHub deliver it to you.
The downside to this is the human aspect and loss of control. If it were you picking up your own order, you'd take the time to make sure what you were picking up is your order. Since it's someone else doing this as a service and they're on a time limit, there's the potential to end up with the wrong order, like I did last night.
I ordered a pizza for my wife. She wanted a simple white garlic pizza with no toppings. Here's what I received.
My name isn't Tyler Nyman. The delivery person likely just saw "White 18" and then grabbed it and ran. My wife hates tomatoes on her pizza and the onions were so overpowering she couldn't eat it. I got it refunded, but had the person taken an extra 30 seconds to double check my order versus the one they grabbed, this could've all been avoided.
