Today, we played Mario Kart 8 online with my sister and brother-in-law. It was a nice change, because the last time we tried this we kept getting "communication error" messages halfway through every race we tried.
Fast forward a few months and whatever was happening was on Nintendo's end. We held multiple races without issue this time.
The only problem was each time we went to set it up, my oldest would take the first player controller and completely mess up the settings. He'd turn auto steering on, tell us he wanted it, then wait until the race started and change his mind. We finally told him enough was enough and he either lets us set it up or he's stuck with whatever choices he made.
That took care of the problem pretty quick, but not before I was about ready to have him sit in timeout.
