The last door to the Misfortune Cookie Christmas Calendar has been opened. Santa had a special thoughtful gift in place.
A pack of tissues, the good German ones. The package says 'Cry'. Fits lol.
Don't shed a tear because of the last Misfortune coming up! I might make it a tradition for this community. The Calendar thing for Christmas I mean. I had fun.
The final wisdom! Running out of doors! I like this one, it's funny.
Well my friends it is Christmas day. At least in Germany.
We, from the East, celebrate it with homemade potato salad and sausages. At 1800, when it's dark outside, the snow is falling softly and everything is wrapped in a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere, there are the gifts. Santa Claus is knocking on the door and you fearfully present your prepared poem. Or song, or play. You can't afford to screw up. Not in front of Santa!
After the ordeal is over and crooked sounds filled the room, you can finally unpack the gifts. The handmade socks, scarfs and gloves. The calendar for the new year, stuffed toys and some books. Sweets, treats and the one gift you wished for.
The sound of traditional Christmas music fills the room and the smell of freshly baked Christmas cookies draws you into the kitchen. The cookies disappear as if by magic while they are still warm. Mulled wine and the preparations for the big, festive dinner on the 25th create a distinctive Christmas smell.
The family gathers under the Christmas tree, enjoying the gifts and peace. Even the cat and the dog get along this day.
Now, since I am alone today I celebrate my own Christmas.
I will delightfully open every presents I got and maybe I will show off some. One for sure lol. The one I got for myself and which Santa brought today, just in time.
I will fix myself a special dinner and relax in front of the tv. A Jeremy Wade special is on. Best Christmas tv entertainment possible. Makes me happy.
And I will spent some time with my sisters cat Schnurrsula and with Joy.
...for the Calendar tradition lol...
