Hello again, Splinterlands and Hivers friends! It's finally Friday! I just went on vacation this week, and it just so happens to coincide with the first season finale of July. These past few weeks I've been volunteering at aid centers for my Venezuelan brothers and sisters after the earthquake, so I didn't have enough time to give it my all this season. However, I did achieve the minimum goals I had set for myself, one of which was to reach Diamond III again. Although we only made it on the last day of the season, we managed to reach and successfully maintain our position.

Hola de nuevo amigos de Splinterlands y Hivers! Finalmente es viernes, justo esta semana salí de vacaciones y ha coincidido casualmente con el primer cierre de temporada de Julio. Estas últimas semanas he estado trabajando como voluntario y en centros de acopio ayudando a mis hermanos venezolanos por el terremoto por lo que no tuve el tiempo suficiente para hacer mi mayor esfuerzo esta temporada, pero si logre las metas mínimas que me había planteado, siendo una de ellas volver a llegar a la liga de diamante III y aunque lo logramos el último día de la temporada logramos llegar y mantenernos exitosamente.

We got this far thanks primarily to the legendary dragon archon from Conclave Arcana, Shen Xiao, and secondly to the Foundation cards, the Rebellion reward cards that we managed to upgrade to epic status, since we only got a few legendary cards back then. Regarding the reward cards in Conclave Arcana, most of my cards are commons and rares; I only have one epic card, which I got from chests. The problem is that these reward chests, whether you climb the leagues or buy them in the shop with glints, have a very low chance of dropping epic and legendary cards. Since I started playing in Modern with this new iteration of more expensive chests and lower odds of getting epic/legendary cards, my reward card deck is basically made up of commons and rares. This chest modification feels almost like a punishment for players, and it's something I think they should fix since it becomes a very poor incentive for new players.

Logramos llegar lo suficientemente lejos gracias primeramente al arconte legendario dragón de Conclave Arcana, Shen Xiao y segundo a las cartas Foundation, las cartas rewards de Rebellion que logramos llegar a a upgradear hasta las cartas épicas, porque fueron muy pocas las cartas legendarias que conseguimos en aquel momento. En cuanto a las cartas rewards de Conclave Arcana, la mayoría de mis cartas con comunes y raras, apenas tengo 1 carta épica que conseguí en los cofres, el asunto es que estos cofres de recompensa ya sea que subas de liga o los compres en la tienda con glints tienen muy pocas probabilidades de dropear cartas épicas y legendarias. Desde que empecé a jugar en modern con esta nueva iteración de cofres más caros y con menos probabilidades de conseguir cartas épica/legendaria básicamente mi mazo de cartas rewards son cartas comunes y raras, parece casi un castigo a los jugadores esta modificación de los cofres y es algo que considero que deberían corregir ya que se convierte en un aliciente muy pobre para los nuevos jugadores.

Even so, with Foundations Archons, one legendary archon, and basically common and rare cards at the maximum level of the Silver league, it's enough to at least reach Diamond III. Chests are definitely a waste of time and Glints, so it's more convenient to buy the various card rarities directly from the Glints store. I started quite late because I was maxing out Foundation cards before focusing on the Modern format, where I only had level 1 Archons, insufficient to beat the Bronze League, and yet I've already completed all the common and rare reward cards. Now our next step is to invest the Glints farmed this season in epic cards.

Aún así, con arcontes Foundations, 1 arconte legendario y básicamente cartas comunes y raras al máximo nivel de la liga de plata, es suficiente para al menos pisar la liga de Diamante III. Los cofres son definitivamente una pérdida de tiempo y de Glints, por lo que es más conveniente comprar las diversas rarezas de cartas directamente en la tienda de Glints. Yo empecé bastante tarde porque estuve upgradeando al máximo las cartas Foundation antes de dedicarme al formato moderno, del que solo tenía arcontes en nivel 1, insuficiente para superar la liga de bronce y aún así ya completé todas las cartas comunes y raras rewards. Ahora nuestro siguiente paso es invertir los glints farmeados esta temporadas en cartas épicas.

This time we generated 141K Glints, relatively close to my usual 170K+, but as I mentioned, I've been quite busy these last few weeks. However, 141K is a good amount to start the next phase of our Modern progress: acquiring epic reward cards.

En esta ocasión generamos 141K en Glints relativamente cerca de los que normalmente hago que son +170K en Glints pero como les dije he estado bastante ocupado estas últimas semanas, pero 141K es una buena cantidad para empezar con la siguiente fase de nuestro progreso en moderno: adquirir las cartas épicas rewards.

We only managed to get 9 epic cards; I would have liked to get 10. In this case, unlike with rare cards where I used alchemy potions, I'm not going to spend money on potions. First, because I'm interested in leveling these cards up quickly, at least to level 3, which is the maximum level I can summon with silver archons. Second, if I were lucky enough to get a golden epic card, it would be very difficult to level it up, so it would be more convenient to sell it and buy more cards on the market. So, our priority right now is to accumulate regular epic cards.

Nos alcanzaron solo para 9 cartas épicas, me habría gustado llegar a las 10, en este caso a diferencia de las cartas raras donde gastaba pociones de alquimia no voy a gastar en pociones, primero porque me interesa subir de nivel rápidamente estas cartas por lo menos hasta el nivel 3 que es el máximo nivel que puedo invocar con arcontes de nivel plata, y segundo si tuviera la suerte de conseguir una carta épica dorada me va a ser muy complicado subirla de nivel por lo que sería más conveniente venderla y comprar más cartas en el mercado, así que nuestra prioridad en este momento es acumular cartas épicas regulares.

We managed to get our first 6 epic cards! You can't imagine how much I resisted buying them on the market. Some were at very good prices, and the FOMO to have them was overwhelming, but I managed to control my anxiety and simply waited patiently for this moment to arrive. Now we can say we have new additions that will strengthen our strategies. Joraki Venshiro was one of those cards I wanted because of its Painforge ability and its Drakoshan lineage. The second card that was a surprise is Rila Fen. This card was the only one I obtained from chests after a year of opening reward chests for climbing leagues. With the three I got, I was able to upgrade her to level 2, making it our first epic card upgrade.

Logramos conseguir nuestras primeras 6 cartas épicas! No se imaginan lo mucho que me contuve a comprarlas en el mercado, algunas estaban a muy buen precio, el FOMO por tenerlas me rodeaba pero logré contener la ansiedad y simplemente esperé con paciencia a que este momento llegara. Ahora ya podemos decir que tenemos nuevas incorporaciones que van a reforzar nuestras estrategias, Joraki Venshiro era una de esas cartas que deseaba tener por su habilidad painforge y ser de linaje Drakoshan. La segunda cartas que fue una sorpresa es Rila Fen, esta carta fue la única que obtuve en los cofres luego de 1 año abriendo cofres de recompensa al subir de liga, con las 3 que me salieron la pude llevar a nivel 2 siendo nuestro 1er upgrading de cartas épicas.

To wrap up this part of my report, I decided to invest the last few thousand glints I had left in upgrading my avatar to level 14. In my previous report, I had done the same and left it at level 13. The thing is, I applied some very specific abilities to my avatar, and the immediate consequence was that the mana cost skyrocketed, and now it's not easy to find a battle where I can use it. That's why I'm going to invest the next points I get from leveling up in reducing the mana cost so I can use it in mid-mana battles.

Para cerrar esta parte de mi reporte, decidí invertir los últimos miles de glints que me quedaban en upgradear mi avatar a nivel 14. En mi reporte anterior había hecho lo mismo y lo había dejado en nivel 13, el asunto es que le aplique habilidades muy particulares a mi avatar y la consecuencia inmediata fue que el coste de mana se disparó y ahora no es fácil conseguir una batalla donde utilizarlo, por eso voy a invertir los próximos puntos que obtenga al subir de nivel en la reducción del coste de mana y poder usarlo en batallas de mana intermedio.

We had about 2000 Glints left over, which we used to buy merits and acquire 4 gladius cases. With everything I had to do, I forgot to spend my merits from the last Brawl. We're already over 670K in merits; with that amount, I could buy 200 gladius cases, but I want to accumulate more than 800K to open 400 gladius cases, including the alchemy stones, to get some epic/legendary golden gladiators. But for now, let's see what these 4 gladius cases have to offer.

Nos sobraron unos 2000 Glints con los que compramos méritos y así adquirir 4 gladius cases. Con todo lo que tenía pendiente olvide gastar mis méritos de la Brawl pasada, ya estamos sobre los 670K en méritos con esa cantidad podría comprar 200 Gladius cases pero quiero acumular más de 800K para abrir 400 Gladius cases incluyendo las piedras de alquimia para conseguir algunas gladiadoras épicas/legendarias doradas. Pero por ahora veamos que nos tienen estos 4 Gladius cases.

We finally managed to get Gorth to level 4. I didn't know this card could gain Enrage at that level. Due to its low mana cost, it can be an interesting tank in low-mana or mid-mana battles. In any case, it's an interesting upgrade for Brawl battles and in the event of the ruleset that allows us to use a gladiator card on the battlefield.

Finalmente conseguimos llevar a Gorth al nivel 4, ignoraba que esta carta prendía enrage a ese nivel, por su bajo coste de mana puede ser un tanque interesante en batallas de bajo mana o intermedio. En cualquier caso, es un interesante avance para las batallas Brawls y en el eventual caso de la ruleset que nos permite usar una carta gladiadora en el campo de batalla.

Regarding rare cards, we're only one card away from taking Ajax Lightfoot to the next level. Once we reach that level, I'll consider the goal with rare gladiator cards complete. Having this card at level 7 allows me to summon it with an epic archon. At first, I was surprised that we didn't have epic archons in the Conclave Arcana core and Escalation sets, but I think it's fine, because an epic archon offers such a unique advantage that it would be premature to release it in Modern, considering that the infamous Rebellion set is still in Modern, polluting everything.

En cuanto a las cartas raras, solo quedamos a 1 carta de llevar Ajax Lightfoot al siguiente nivel, cuando la logremos llevar a ese nivel consideraré concluida la meta con las cartas gladiadoras raras. Tener esta carta a nivel 7 me permite invocarla con un arconte épico, al principio me extrañó que no tuviéramos arcontes épicos en los sets core y Escalation de Conclave Arcana, pero considero que esta bien, porque un arconte épico ofrece una ventaja tan única que sería precipitado sacarla en moderno, considerando que la infame edición Rebellion aún esta en moderno contaminándolo todo.

Alright, folks, with these epic cards, we have our first high-end additions to our Conclave Arcana deck. From now on, we'll be farming as many Glints as we can to level these cards to 3 and take advantage of their abilities and lineage synergies.
