Just the other day, we managed to advance to Gold League II after starting in Silver I last week. The progress has been rapid, but that's because I've finally found the time to fund my wallet and, more importantly, snag some great deals on the cards needed to advance in the Modern format using only the Conclave Arcana set. That's why today I decided not to share my usual Golden Path report, where I document our progress in managing the resources we're producing. Today, I want to share my discreet purchases of Conclave Arcana/Escalation cards to strengthen my Modern deck and advance in the Gold League. Let's begin!

El avance ha sido rápido pero es que por fin he tenido el tiempo para finalmente fondear mi billetera y lo más importante pescar buenos ofertas de las cartas necesarias para avanzar en el formato moderno, exclusivamente con el set Conclave Arcana. Por eso el día de hoy decidí no compartirles mi acostumbrado reporte de la Senda Dorada, donde dejo registro de nuestro avance en la administración de los recursos que estamos produciendo. Hoy quiero compartirles las compras discretas de cartas Conclave Arcana/Escalation para fortalecer mi mazo moderno y poder avanzar en la liga dorada. Comencemos!

Since it's Wednesday, the first thing I do is check everything related to the Volt Event, starting with the price of Electrofox on the market. I still haven't managed to get my hands on the coveted foil copy of this card, but I haven't given up hope. Now that I'm discovering the versatility of Legendary Archons with different lineages, I'm starting to see this wonderful card in a new light.

Como ya es miércoles, lo primero que hago es revisar todo lo que tiene que ver con el Volt Event, empezando por el precio del Electrofox en el mercado. Aún no consigo la ansiada copia de esta carta en lámina especial pero no pierdo la esperanza, ahora que estoy descubriendo la versatilidad que tienen los arcontes legendarios con los linajes, estoy comenzando a ver con otros ojos esta maravillosa carta.

Currently, my regular level 4 Electrofox is locked, generating resources, so I'd like to buy it at level 2 to see how it performs with the Legendary Archons I've purchased. Right now, there aren't any good deals, and the price of the gold foil version is outrageous! That's why I'm hoping to get lucky opening chests and find the gold version to use in battles and tournaments.

Actualmente mi Electrofox regular lvl 4 esta bloqueda generando recursos, por lo que me gustaría comprarla en nivel 2 para ver como funciona con los arcontes legendarios que he comprado. Por ahora no hay buenas ofertas y ni hablar del precio en lámina dorada! Por eso espero tener al menos un golpe de suerte abriendo los cofres y conseguir la versión dorada para darle uso en las batallas y torneos.

Today we reached 10K in EVP, so we checked the remaining Aurelius chests, and there are fewer than 150 left! This means that next week we'll be seeing the last chests in this remaining category. I hope I can manage to buy one more for one last chance with these numbers, since after that the Hyper chests will follow in order of reward percentage.

Well, this was a pretty depressing haul for an Aurelius chest. I hope I can make it in time next week to buy what would be my last chest of this rarity. In any case, it adds up to a few ETN, half of what I earn from a Gold II League win, and some energy to keep playing.

My work in the real world had prevented me from taking the time to fund my account with credits and start buying the cards I needed to seriously begin making my way up to the leagues above Silver and Gold in Modern. To be honest, time is against me. Splinterlands has a bad habit of completely forgetting about current sets as soon as the airdrops or conflicts (call them what you will, it's the same thing) are released, and they're immediately planning the release dates, practically weeks in advance, for the next set of cards that will replace the Rebellion set. That's why I need to quickly acquire and master the Legendary Archon Core cards before the last conflict is released, so I can maintain a competitive deck when Rebellion is finally launched.

Mis labores en el mundo real me habían impedido tomarme el tiempo de fondear mi cuenta con créditos y comenzar a comprar las cartas que necesitaba para empezar en serio a abrirme paso en las ligas superiores a plata y oro en moderno. Tengo el tiempo en contra siendo sinceros, Splinterlands tiene la mala costumbre de olvidarse completamente de los sets actuales cuando terminan de salir los airdrops o conflictos (como quieras llamarlos, es lo mismo), e inmediatamente ya esta planteando las fechas prácticamente en semanas del próximo set de cartas que desplazarán a la edición de cartas Rebellion. Por eso, necesito adquirir y dominar rápidamente los arcontes legendarios Core antes de que salga el último conflicto para así mantener un mazo competitivo cuando salga definitivamente Rebellion.

Starting this week, I acquired Captain Fralie. I loved this card from the first time I saw it; its artwork is simply adorable! But its usefulness is equally remarkable, as it applies Inspire to all units with the Tideborn/Rodentian lineage and the True Strike/Pierce tactical abilities for two units. But just like with Dragonlord, I realized I had hardly any units with that lineage, so it was time to start looking at the prices of these units, taking into account their rarity and at what levels they develop useful abilities.

Empezando esta semana adquirí a Captain Fralie, esta carta me encantó desde la primera vez que la vi, su diseño de arte es simplemente una ternura! Pero su utilidad es igualmente destacable, pues aplica inspire a todas aquellas unidades que tengan el linaje tideborn/rodentian y las habilidades tácticas true strike/pierce para 2 unidades. Pero al igual que con Dragonlord, me di cuenta que casi no tenía unidades con ese linaje así que era hora de comenzar a ver los precios de estas unidades, teniendo en cuenta su rareza y en que niveles desarrollaban habilidades útiles.

For the past two weeks, I've been studying cards with the Saurian/Bruteborn lineage (for Dragonlord Mancer) and Tideborn/Rodentian lineage (for Captain Fralie), considering both their abilities and prices within my budget. I bought a batch of cards with these lineages, which we'll look at next.

Ya desde las últimas 2 semanas venía estudiando las cartas con el linaje Saurian/Bruteborn (para Dragonlord Mancer) y Tideborn/Rodentian (para Captain Frankie), tanto habilidades como precio considerando mi limitación presupuestaria y compre un lote de cartas con estos linajes que vamos a ver a continuación.

From the moment I decided to buy Dragonlord Mancer, I knew Calamity was a must-have card in my deck, not at level 1 but at level 2 where it learns the ability to drain life per hit. It was a card I hesitated to acquire because there were only two copies at $4.30 each, and only in the early morning was a third copy offered at a similar price. Currently, that one copy is going for $32!

Desde el primer momento que había tomado la decisión de comprar a Dragonlord Mancer, tenía claro que Calamity era una carta obligatoria en mi mazo y no en nivel 1 sino en el nivel 2 donde aprende la habilidad de drenar vida por golpe, fue una carta que demoré en adquirirla porque solo habían 2 copias en 4,3$ y solo a la madrugada se ofertó la tercera copia a un precio similar, actualmente esta 1 copia en 32$!

The versatility of cards with shapeshift is undeniable when it comes to the core legendary archons, so I filtered the market for cards with this ability. Then I decided to add the promotional cards Doldrus to my deck, for which I should have bought a glint skin back in the day, and the famous Portia Nyr, which has also become quite expensive. At the moment, there are only two regular maxed-out copies available. Finally, Bren Palesworn, a card with a combined melee/ranged attack, will complement our strategy with Captain Frankie quite well.

La versatilidad de las cartas con shapeshift es incuestionable cuando se trata de los arcontes legendarios core, por eso filtré el mercado con aquellas cartas que tuvieran esta habilidad y entonces decidí incorporar a mi mazo las cartas promocionales Doldrus de la cual debí haberle comprado una skins con glints en su momento y la famosa Portia Nyr que también se ha encarecido bastante, en este momento solo hay 2 copias regulares disponibles al máximo. Por último, Bren Palesworn una carta con ataque combinado melé/rango que complementará bastante bien nuestra estrategia con Captain Frankie.

These four cards will be the cornerstone of our legendary archons to solidify our position in the gold league. Of course, there are other cards with this ability, and the ones I bought are at levels 1 and 2. They're still far from their optimal version, but for now, this is more than enough. Let's look at some other units I bought that share a lineage with my legendary archons.

Estas 4 cartas serán el pilar fundamental de nuestros arcontes legendarios para afianzar nuestra posición en la liga de oro. Por supuesto hay otras cartas con esta habilidad y estas que compré están en nivel 1 y 2, aún falta mucho para tenerlas en su versión óptima pero por ahora es más que suficiente. Veamos a continuación otras unidades que compré que comparten linaje con mis arcontes legendarios.

We’ll start with the common cards, which are the key components for making the Captain Frankie strategy work, since the “Inspire” ability only increases the damage of melee units. The units I purchased were Quillstorm Mage, Magnificent Mollusk, and Tidal Tsunamist. Simply having these units in your lineup is enough for them to gain the ability and add +1 melee damage, so it’s crucial to choose the units that will be on the front lines—or, conversely, if you plan to attack the enemy’s rear guard.

Comenzamos con las cartas comunes que son las principales piezas hacer funcionar la estrategia con Captain Frankie, ya que la habilidad inspire solo aumenta el daño de las unidades melé, las unidades que compre fueron Quillstorm Mage, Magnificent Mollusk y Tidal Tsunamist. Basta con tener estas unidades en la alineación para que adquieran la habilidad y sume +1 de daño melé por tanto es clave escoger las unidades que estarán en la vanguardia o por el contrario si piensas atacar la retaguardia enemiga.

The next card was Shiraza. I wanted this card from the moment I saw it in the Escalation set, particularly because of its “Weapons Training” ability, which is ideal for combining with Doldrus and Yaba's Pickle—which, fortunately, we have in gold. I didn't buy it at first because the price was over $2 per copy, but you can currently get it for less than $1.

La siguiente carta fue Shiraza, esta carta la quise desde el primer momento que la vi en el set Escalation, particularmente por su habilidad weapons training ideal para combinar con Doldrus y el Yaba's Pickle que afortunadamente tenemos dorado. No la compre inicialmente porque su precio ascendía a más de 2$ la copia pero actualmente puedes conseguirla a menos de 1$.

My last two acquisitions were two Rodentian cards: Skritka, a legendary card with a combined attack that I plan to place in the second position, using a tank with the Flank ability; and Kervik, a unit that attacks from the last position. Both are melee units that will benefit from the “Inspire” ability granted by the Archon Captain Frankie, since they share lineage. With these two cards, I’ve completed my offensive deck for now, featuring the legendary Life Archon.

Las 2 últimas adquisiciones fueron 2 cartas rodentian: Skritka que es una carta legendaria con ataque combinado que pienso ubicar en la segunda posición, usando un tanque con la habilidad flank y Kervik que es una unidad que ataca la última posición. Ambas son unidades melé que se beneficiarán de la habilidad inspire que le confiere el arconte Captain Frankie al compartir linaje. Con estas 2 cartas cierro por ahora mi mazo ofensivo con el arconte legendario de vida.

Well, friends, these are the cards I’ve bought over the last few days. As you can see, I thought carefully about which cards to buy, given that my budget is limited. I took the time to thoroughly evaluate which cards make a difference by watching matches at the top of the Silver and Gold leagues and assessing up to what level these cards are effective enough. Bien amigos estas fueron las compras que hice estos últimos días, como verán pensé muy bien cuales cartas comprar considerando que mi presupuesto es limitado, me tomé el tiempo para evaluar bien cuales cartas hacen la diferencia, viendo batallas en los top de la liga de plata/oro y estimar hasta que nivel estas cartas son lo suficientemente efectivas.
