What's up, Splinterfam! Yesterday we had the EoS for the second half of August, so I'll take advantage of this first day of September to give a brief recap of our progress in the Modern format, which is where we're currently playing dedicatedly, along with Brawls and tournaments. It was a season where I tried to be consistent in my daily battles and try my best to use my promo and golden cards to get better win bonuses. We reached Gold League I, placing well on the leaderboard and collecting a 25K glint reward, which adds to the total generated, which for the first time has exceeded 190K. Let's get started!

El día de ayer tuvimos el EoS de la segunda quincena de agosto, así que aprovecharé este primer sía del mes de septiembre para hacer un breve balance de nuestro progreso en el formato moderno, que es donde actualmente estamos jugando dedicadamente, junto a las Brawls y los torneos. Fue una temporada en la que intente mantenerme constante a la hora de meter mis batallas diarias y tratar en la moyor medida de lo posible aprovechar mis cartas promo y doradas para conseguir mejores bonificaciones por victorias. Llegamos hasta la liga de oro I ubicándonos en la tabla de posiciones y cobrando una recompensa de 25K en glints que se suma al total generado que por primera vez ha superado los 190K. Comencemos!

As I mentioned before, we generated a record amount of Glint this past season: 212K! The last time I achieved this amount was when I was playing Champion Wild, locking up around 300K SPS. The difference here is that I'm playing Modern and only using my own locked SPS, which are still under 50K. I'm also seeing a significant increase in SPS from rewards: 1113. I'm sure I can generate more if I optimize my daily battles in Modern, but we'll see if I can break that record this season.

In our previous report, we bought a batch of epic cards and were lucky enough to find a gold foil. This time, with over 200K glints, we managed to buy 14 of these cards. You can see the results below.

This time we didn't get any gold potions, but that's because I was practically out of them. I'll soon have to invest a significant amount in these potions to continue hunting for gold reward cards, as I need them to increase my collection power. But the good news is that we got several copies of Saltwraith Pirate, this card has been extremely useful to me since from level 1 it has the lineage tribute ability.

Esta vez no conseguimos pociones doradas, pero fue porque ya estaba prácticamente sin estas pociones, pronto tendré que invertir una cantidad importante en estas pociones para continuar cazando cartas de recompensas doradas, ya que las necesito para subir mi poder de colección. Epic cards are certainly expensive, and although you only need a few copies to upgrade them, I was able to buy 14 with just 210K. I might have to increase my reward boost by renting SPs and see if I can increase the amount of these reward tokens, because when I have to buy legendary cards, the price in glints is going to skyrocket, and I'll only be able to buy one or two pairs. For now, we've only managed to upgrade Saltwraith Pirate, which is key to boosting the attack of my units with the Shapeshifter ability and those with the Rodentian bloodline.

Las cartas épicas son ciertamente costosas, y aunque se necesitan pocas copias de ellas para upgradearlas, con solo 210K pude comprar 14 copias. The second card was Rila Fen, whose battle potential I've already discussed in a post. She's become my first epic card to reach the top of the Silver League, which is where I have most of my legendary archons that I've bought so far.

The rest of my epic cards are at level 2, except for Joraki Venshiro, but we're only one copy away from reaching level 2. We already have Kazira Vaelstrik at level 2 in Gold Foil. We'll see if we can increase our Glint collection for the next season so we can buy more of these cards and get them to level 3, allowing us to move on to buying legendary cards.

De resto la mayoría de mis cartas épicas están en nivel 2 a excepción de Joraki Venshiro pero solo estamos a 1 sola copia de obtener el nivel 2, mientras que Kazira Vaelstrik ya la tenemos en nivel 2 en lámina dorada. Ya veremos si podemos aumentar la cantidad de Glints para la siguiente temporada y así comprar una mayor cantidad de estas cartas como para dejarlas a nivel 3 y pasar a comprar las cartas legendarias.

To wrap up this report, today I finally managed to buy the promotional cards for Splinterlands' eighth anniversary! I don't remember if something similar happened last year, but this was an opportunity I didn't want to miss, especially considering they were promotional cards from the Conclave Arcana set.

Para cerrar este reporte, hoy finalmente pude comprar las cartas promocionales por el octavo aniversario de Splinterlands! No recuerdo si se hizo algo similar el año pasado, pero esta era una ocasión que no quería dejar pasar de ninguna forma y particularmente considerando que serían cartas promocionales del set Conclave Arcana.

Initially, I was only going to buy one copy of the epic Tenrai card, but after realizing the power of archons like Dragonlord Mancer and Sheng Xiao, I understood that I should at least have one copy of the legendary as well. Then I realized again the need to have these two cards at the top of the league I'm currently playing in: Silver/Gold. I had even seen the potential of these two cards together in tournaments that allowed us to use all the cards, and that's when I finally understood the need to incorporate these cards into my neutral deck.

Inicialmente, solo iba a comprarme 1 sola copia de la carta épica Tenrai, pero al darme cuenta del poder de arcontes como Dragonlord Mancer y Sheng Xiao, entendía que al menos debía tener también 1 copia de la legendaria. Luego volvi a darme cuenta de la necesidad de tener estas 2 cartas al tope de la liga en la que estoy jugando actualmente: plata/oro. Incluso ya había visto el potencial de estas 2 cartas juntas en torneos que nos permitían usar todas las cartas y fue alli que terminé de entender la necesidad de incorporar estas cartas a mi mazo de neutros.

I had to save up enough money for two weeks to buy them because I planned to continue acquiring the legendary archons from the Core set, but Suiko at level 2 and Tenrai at level 3 cost me a total of $36. That left me with barely enough budget to buy the legendary water archon, Loving the Moo, and the death archon, which was the one I most wanted, Brave the Bull. I was finally able to buy them all, but I'll go into more detail about the legendary archons in a future post.

The charm of these cards lies in the fact that when they reach the top of the Silver League, Tenrai gains Kindred Spirit and Suiko gains Kindred Will. When these cards are adjacent to each other, they gain a completely new ability. In Tenrai's case, she gains Armored Strike, allowing her to attack her target with her remaining defense points—very convenient given her Opportunistic ability. Meanwhile, Suiko gains an ability I haven't seen since Chaos Legion: Giant Killer, meaning she can deal double damage to units with a mana stack of 10 or more.

El encanto de estas cartas es que cuando están al tope de la liga de plata, Tenrai adquiere la habilidad Kindred Spirit y Suiko Kindred Will cuando estas cartas están adyacentes una a la otra, adquieren una habilidad completamente nueva. En el caso de Tenrai tiene la habilidad armored strike por lo que puede atacar a su objetivo con los puntos de defensa que tenga, muy conveniente ya que tiene la habilidad oportunista. Mientras que Suiko adquiere una habilidad que no recordaba desde Chaos Legion: giant killer, es decir que puede hacer el doble de daño a unidades con un poste de mana igual o superior a 10.

Beyond being anniversary cards, they are the only two playable cards in ranked with the Dragonkin lineage, and I have a feeling that the next Dragon Archon in the Escalation set might share lineage with these two cards, or perhaps an Archon from the next set.
