If you have built up good garden beds, you plant a seed in the spring, and you collect its fruits in the fall. The sun provided the energy. But, the gardener spent much of their time making those garden beds abundantly fertile. And the caring for the plants. The time weeding and watering.

At this moment in time, we do not know how to work without some chits to balance the time people give.

But seriously, we live FAR more richly than we did 100 years ago. Everyone with fridges, and heating. Our standards of living went way up, but that is not really accountable in dollars.

And we could have a far better life if we just built a good, solid "toaster" for every person. Then, no more energy has to be spent on that
