Yes, that is the proper definition of money, but that doesn't include a lot of scenarios that imply constraints.
As in, if i want some latex rubber from Africa, or a big box of bolts from China. Then, gold is right out, but bitcoin may just be the thing.

What i really find disturbing is that i can often use a credit card to do these transactions. So much stuff happening in the background, that i have no clue of.
