If you are in a small town, get to know every police officer.

If you are in Los Angles, move.
In there, the "good" cops are already known to be corrupt.
And the bad police officers have already staked out an area that they will take over when SHTF. (They are already planning to be a warlord)

If you are on the west side of Canada, there are already Chinese Army there.
And they are planning to hold that area and down into Seattle.

Anyway, think on things, and make plans to get out of the way.
