It is a neat idea.
One that proponents of automated taxis propose all the time.
But, it is inherently personally limiting.
Right now, almost everyone drives one direction in the morning, and the opposite in the evening.
This does not work with an UBER type system.
As it makes a lot of people wait, queue up to go home/work while the UBER drives in circles, using twice as much fuel.
What i was speaking of, is more about, everyone stops driving to work. They work from home. Or, more specifically, they are growing food at home. And other things that just makes owning a car superfluous.
