Silver is FAR better at electrical conduction. Copper doesn't even cut it for microchips. (gold has about twice the ohms per meter as silver)

And, in the future, we will be using the two isotopes of silver to make very interesting electronic components. Gold only has one isotope, so it will not work here at all.

Also, we use silver solder for all electronics (and water pipes) i don't even think there is a gold alternative.
