There is one big thing i am worried about with carnivore / paleo.
Remember back when vegetarian was a popular craze in the 90s?
For a lot of people, they did really well for like two years, and then their bodies started crashing. They went back to meat (or maybe, more appropriate, std american diet) the recovered and became normal.
Anyway, many people called this "detox" That good two years was because the vegetarian diet was cleaning them out.
(Godz! i wish we had actual, accurate nutrition studies and data)
But, lets say, these people who are doing so spectacularly on carnivore diet start having a breakdown at about 2 years.
I can see all kinds of things that we do to meat that can create a toxic build up over time.
I just hope they are eating enough green roughage to actually clean up. So many treat the greens as, like the single side dish, the broccoli, that you had to eat before leaving the table.
BTW, did you know that the Dalai Lama is ½ vegetarian? He eats meat only every other day. And there may be something really big about that on/off cycle. It may be tied to data on fasting… or not
