I think that's a mistake.

For society, it is the biggest mistake.
For an individual man, it is the only logical thing to do.
What else should he do? Stand up to the govern-cement? (squashed like a bug)
Stand up to women-kind? (squashed like a bug and have your reputation destroyed)

Should the man sacrifice himself for nothing, and a group that hates him, spits on him, tells him that he is everything that is wrong with the world?

It is not one negative interaction. It is all the interactions being neutral at best, horrifyingly negative at worst.

Only if you are an asshole, bad guy, would you continue to try with women.
