This is really what happens to astronauts that stay in "space" a long time. They are actually disintegrating. It is like taking a plant out of soil. We will have to learn to develop an earth like field around us before we can leave. And we do not even believe in these "fields" yet. All spooky woo woo.

An example, it will cost half of your lifespan to teleport to earth. The time taken to travel here is almost instantaneous.
