I totally comprehend and sympathize with your position.
On one hand you have hundreds of years of lies that have been polished.
On the other you have people claiming the earth is flat, faster than light travel is possible, psychic abilities are real. And this science is not polished, not even written down for the most part. People just sharing strange phenomena.

The problem comes about in that most people aren't scientific.
They believe in Einstein. They have been taught to believe in Einstein.

And do not know what to do with the information.
"This device creates a pulse that gets to the other end of the bench faster than the speed of light"

If true, this means that everything that Einstein sold is a complete lie.
Throw out Einstein, Throw out Hawkins, Throw out string theory, throw out relativity.

How does one just throw out a large part of physics?
They simply can't be that wrong?

But they are. Soon the modern college physics text book will be thrown away.

The Large Hadron Collider will be turned into the worlds most expensive museum.

Do you know about magnet motors?
Motors that spin just by the magnets in certain aspects inside it.
They spin forever. At least until they wear out.
So, why aren't these things taught in physics?

We have perpetual motion machines.

Modern physics cannot talk about this because they cannot explain how magnets work.
And to admit these things exist is to throw out the laws of thermodynamics.
