A common criminal, a low level thief will have a view of themselves and the world that it is just normal to steal. And they will remember words like "he was hungry" and "society should have done something about it"

We have extended these kinds of words to people who cannot maintain civility.

Pretty soon, murder will just be "momentary insanity" as par for the course.
