The university never actually worked out how to be helpful to the young folk.
It used to be you got a university education... so you studied a bit of everything.
Art, as you could recognize the famous paintings
A little psychology, a little philosophy
a smattering of sciences
and came out a well rounded person.
But, our current environ wants very specific cogs to work the corporate machinery.
Most modern degrees do not align with any actual jobs.
As you said, marketing sucks for actually marketing.
And you will learn that on the first day if you actually got a marketing job.
You will wonder why you didn't go into technical art instead.
... but that probably wouldn't have gotten you the job...
Its all a scam.
