But even more, the story that is shown in pictures.
Like Sophie becoming younger/older depending on her courage level.
You have to figure out the world, and what is happening, and the people, and the intrigue as you are moving through the story.
Spirited Away really needs you know a great deal of Japanese culture and history.
Like, there is a sign that you see when you first see the bath house. Basically it says, this is not just a bath house but a brothel.
And the magic of the name stealer...
