To clarify, "ice-age" is a planetary cycle. It is designed to "change" the water in the fish tank.
You know, ever once in a while, if you keep an aquarium, you need to change the water. No matter how good you filter and stuff.
I do not believe in the 5000 year bible version, nor do i believe in million years-dinosaur ages.
The problem with the bible version is that too many pieces have been removed. So, it is not all their to be counted. However, it is also quite apropos to say that our current epoch, about 5120 years is what the Bible catelogs.
And there are tons of evidence, stone carvings and such, that shows humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time. A couple of cowboys shot down a pterodactyl and strung it up across the side of a barn.
We have many stories of knights and dragons. What if dragons meant large lizards... or dinosaurs.
Makes a lot more sense that we hunted them to extinction not more than 1000 years ago.

The ice-age is a cycle God/The Universe set up where it changes water temperatures and sea levels causing certain things to drop out of the ocean waters and replenish things.
It looks really complex, involving the sun, sector of space and the magnetic field around our planet.
And if we live longer, we will see that ice ages are a cycle, and an important cycle.
