Things are not like they were before:
Suburban housing is about to go to "free"
City housing? Not sure, depends on how fast industry is moved.
Rural housing will be very different... and what we consider "property rights" will change drastically.
There are so many die-offs coming. Freezing, old age, boomer -> retirement homes, VAXXX deaths...
that i expect about 10-20% of suburban housing to be empty by the end of winter.
This means, anyone who wants a house, find an empty one and move in.
Getting a homestead will become the big thing as food continues to increase in price.
The next step is groups of people coming together to build larger homesteads and becoming almost completely independent.
On property rights, we currently have a system where the newest person has to out-compete EVERYONE that has come before to get a piece of property. What kind of society does this????
The least capable (no experience) with the least capital, has to out-compete all that have come before them to get a house.
Why do we not create a place for them in our society? The oldest should be concerned with making space for the new births. Or society as a whole should.
This idea of "kicking them out of the nest" to fly on their own is ludicrous. It become prohibitive over time.
