The problem is, food is really cheap.

We have perfected factory farming so that each unit of "food" is as cheap as possible.
So, if you have a good paying job, you will pay way more for any food that you grow.
(they pay imported mexican labor less than minimum wage to pick all that produce)

However, if you have free time, you can turn that into food.
And with many of the innovative systems out there, you can do so with very little free time.

The problem is, you have to radically grow your own food to see the kinds of returns that can keep up with inflation. You grow all your own food, and thus do not need a car to go to work, nor the gas, nor the daycare... so that you save enough to afford your own food.

BUT! the food in stores is very poor in quality.
You do not get ripe fruits and vegetables. All there have been "ripened"
Like, truly, that "red" tomato you pick up to put into your salad is actually green.
So, you can seriously increase your quality of food by growing it yourself.

And soon we will start seeing the food in stores plummet in quality.
As in, added bugs, removal of the "sell by" date, removal of complete ingredients lists...

Tyson and many others raised their prices, not because there supply prices went up, but just because inflation was up. They made a great deal more profit.
